Re: Running Board Gap

Perfect.
Thanks for the help and especially the picture.
The AA group has been a great source of information for this first AA project.
I will try to get some updated progress pictures posted as soon as I can figure out how to size them correctly.

Running Board Gap

Hello, I am ready to install my short running boards on my 29 AA. The front end where they bolt to the fender has two forward protruding stamped areas by the bolt holes that makes about a quarter inch gap when bolted up to the fender. Does any one have info on weather this gap is filled with somethi...

'29 AA running boards

Hello,
I am looking for a used but restorable set of 35" running boards for my '29 AA.
I am also considering making a set out of diamond tread plate steel.
Has anyone out there had any experience with this?

Re: Engine & Tranny Wanted

I agree with Jared, I did the same "refreshing" for my '29 including grinding the valves and seats. After some hours putting around the property with the bare frame/go-cart to test all my mechanical work this summer, I am happy to report the rings seem to have seated and smoking and high o...

Paint Finish Advice?

I have all my frame and mechanical systems assembled and painted. I also have my 20” spoke wheels blasted, primed, and painted high gloss polyurethane catalyzed dark green enamel. I bought a whole gallon of this paint expecting to do the cab in this color as well. I also need black paint for the fen...

Re: New member and my project

By the way guys, this is what I started with. When my friend and I drove up the driveway with my "new" prize neatly stacked in his pickup, my sweet wife stuck her head out of the house and said "you paid HOW much for that?" Now she is seeing the value as it comes together. The bo...

Re: New member and my project

Yes I put the sleeves on the engine mount bolts. When tightening them, I assumed they should be squished all the way until they bottom against the sleeves. Maybe I should have left them looser? Most of my hardware has been sandblasted then primed with a black epoxy primer along with my frame parts. ...

Re: New member and my project

Thanks for the words of encouragement. The cab and fenders are useable with the typical areas of rust. I got some body hammers and dollys and did most of the patching. It takes a lot of patience to weld in the flush patches without warping. So far it is going good. Not a lot of body filler will be n...

New member and my project

Hello, I am fairly new to AA trucks and this forum. It all started with the purchase of a '29 AA joker a few years back. After some research and really getting attached to 80 some year old technology, the bug bit me hard and I bought a '29 AA truck basket case. I have been at this restoration for ab...
