Re: Correct spare tire carrier lug nuts?
Great information. Now know that I have the A-21922 lug nuts on the spare tire carrier and the A-?????? carrier jam nut. I thought it was odd to have different sized lug nuts. I guess the recalls didn't get everything. What is the purpose of the two holes directly above the carrier jam nut? Is there...

Sourdough, nice looking truck. Judging by the height of the fence around your garden it seems you might have a few elk in the area that have devloped a taste for your carrots.

Correct spare tire carrier lug nuts?
Are these the correct nuts for the spare tire carrier? The carrier doesn't look as if it has ever carried a spare on it. The nuts are 15/16" rather that the 1 1/8" tire lug nuts.

Re: 6 to 12
Hi Stan, welcome to the forum. Curious as to why you want to switch over to 12 volt. The original 6 volt systems in the AA's works really well. In what part of the world are you located?

Re: Transmission tower
I would think that your springs are suspect too. Probably be better off finding correct springs.

Re: Interesting overload springs
Farrell - here are some pictures for you. The pictures are off my other truck but I think they are more correct. Neil can you weigh in on this?
I think I will need to do this in three posts in order to get he pictures to fit.
1-3 are by the left rear tail light.

Re: Interesting overload springs
Yup twelve more leaves is definately and indicator of a well used rig! What type of deck is on this unit Dave? It's a platform bed. The wood was all rotted out so it is stripped down to the skid strips right now. My wood was still pretty good shape, but I am going to replace it anyway. I cannot see...

Interesting overload springs
Thought that I would share a couple pictures of the overload springs that were added to this truck. Looks like they must have liked to heap the truck full.

Re: High speed rear end value question.
Opened up the filler plug. No chips at all. Teeth do show wear as one would expect but it is all even and smooth. Looks like it has some good life left in it yet.

Re: High speed rear end value question.
Good advice. I have yet to open up the filler plug to take a peek. I'll try to do that tomorrow.

High speed rear end value question.
I picked up a 28 truck for parts recently and I was pleasantly suprised that it has a high speed rear end. One of my fellow club members has a 29 with the low speed rear end and I know that he would be interested in it. If I can get over the urge to hang onto it (hoard it  ) and with him being...
