Hello Art,
The u-joint you have is it the riveted together type or the one that has the replaceable cross ?.

Re: Brake rod return springs

Brian, The pin should have a cotter. Springs which were attached to the pin were at the head originally. The rocker arm you have is AA-2521-B D1 (see above drawings). Attached is an example of a spring attached to a pin. Thanks Neil, I just got lazy after having the rods off so many times getting e...

Re: Brake rod return springs

Here is a pic of the brake rocker arm on my May 29, the springs were missing when I received the truck, I used a pair of springs from Ace hardware , then later purchased the 3rd version spring from the vender, I saw no wear on the rocker arm itself that may indicate it was attached to the arm ? -- s...

Hello,
My eyes maybe deceiving me, the drum in your picture appears to be a front drum?, as for the 2 bearings I do not believe anything goes between them.

Just a thought --- do you have a Hi-Lo unit in the truck?. possibly a Warford,? if so it may have been bumped into neutral.

Re: Post your July 4th "Double-A"

Here's Maggie out showing off on the 4th at Old Poway Park CA, they have a steam engine that circles the park, I like inviting the kids to step in and have there pics taken, we were there with members of the Palomar As club, a good day.

Re: 1928 aa truck trans/dr shaft

I have not seen any Ford documentation indicating that a low speed worm drive axle could not have been ordered with a dual high. Where is this information coming from Brian? There is no reason that the dual high can not be connected to the after market 4-speed in a 1928 AA. The 4-speed rear bearing...

Re: 1928 aa truck trans/dr shaft

I don't believe that tin housing is meant to support the Hi-Lo unit, it is usually bolted to the 3 speed u-joint housing, looks like someone as put together something that may not work. It would be better to install a 3 speed transmission, as I see the Hi-Lo pedal looks to be original then it shoul...

Re: Radiators - pressurized, flat tube, rows???

Hello Gary, Your radiator man gave you excellent advise,-- pressurizing radiators gains you little in temperature control with these engines, my truck has a 4 tube-10 fin-re-core with original tanks and came from Berts in Denver, and has no problem on steep grades and hot days. Bergs radiator in PA ...

Thanks Keith, ---- So is this the hub for the T-O bearing for the 4 speed AA trans?, I understand they are needed along with the 4 speed clutch housing to install the F150 trans into a model A.
