Re: new owner... with questions/want ads

That steering nut is a toutchy area. I split the nut with a chisel on one and soaked another with Merc/Dex Auto trans fluid and used a chisel like a drift and whacked the outside corners of the bolt to loosen it (as the nut was rusted round). The second method was much easier. Dad tried to take one ...

Re: 1929 survivor on ford barn

Holy Carp! I've seen that truck before. It used to sit in a parking lot on the south side of RT36 (at least I think it was 36). Dad and I stopped to look it over last spring on our way home from an E.A.A. Workshop.

Re: 28/29 AA for sale

TomH, they're just using the cab of the AA's and putting them on custom chassis for the most part. Luke

Re: WTB: U-Joint

Yes it is a 4 speed, on the front of the rear end they have a second 4 speed bolted two it. So I need something to go between (with a short drive shaft) the output of the front trans and the input of the second trans. The output is 6 spline and the input is 10 spline. I think I found something that...

Re: 28/29 AA for sale

Sad about the truck though, it's rough, but I don't think it's far enough gone that a hotrodder should be trashing it. Luke

Re: 28/29 AA for sale

Dave, that's the general attitude you're going to get at the HAMB these days, that's why I haven't been on there much in the last 2 years. I'm guessing that that guy bought the truck with the intentions of rodding it, then found out how much it would cost and decided he could make a profit on it ins...

Re: 28/29 AA for sale

You never know about the hotrod crowd. They get some crazy idea in their head and they might just pay that for a rusted out truck cab. My Bro-in-law is currently looking to buy a really nice restored, running, driving, 1930 AA for $3500. He wants to know if he can get $1500 to $2000 for everything b...

Re: new owner... with questions/want ads

Welcome Pyrodork! As far as the muriatic acid goes, you do not want to dip the whole block in it as it will eat the babbit. You could build a tank and place the block in top side down and raise the level of the acid mixture to just below the main bearings. Unless you are dealing with major rust insi...

Re: Tires

Some suppliers still have limited quantities of the 750-20 Denmans, but it appears that Specialty Tire of America has ended up with what was left of Denmans truck line and are only producing limited models. So far all that I have seen that they are offering is the STA Transport Highway Tread-750-20 ...

Re: Tires

I should have been clearer in my post, I was speaking of the Denmans. Well, I didn't get her name, but at about 4PM central the gal taking orders said they were not going to be getting anymore Denmans. This is due to the fact that Denman no longer exists. The Firestones have been available again sin...

Re: Tires

Sacramento Vintage Speed has none and will be getting none. I just called them. The lady indicated that someone had 2 on backorder and that they would have to tell the customer about the situation. Luke

Re: New here with a couple questions on a 31 AA

Ask 100 A/AA guys about oil and you'll get 110 answers! I use 30wt nondetergent with a zinc additive, but I have friends who use 10W-30 & 10W-40 (one currently has 40,000+ mi on a rebuild) and one who uses pure synthetic (he has 50,000+ since his last rebuild). If you run multigrade or synthetic...
