I was looking in A.G. McMillians book "Model A/AA Truck Owner" and I noticed that Ford offerend the AA in a roadster, Has anyone seen on by chance, were they common?

Re: Roadster AA ??
FYI - the roadster is the car body. There is no roadster cab since it was called an open cab and the top would not fold down.
The open cab was not offered until about July/Aug of 1928. I have never seen an original AA (in the field) with the open cab. I am sure that they were sold and some must still exist.

Re: Roadster AA ??
I have one - Nov. 28 soft top service truck w/weaver crane. This truck was owner by one Ford garage that had 2 owners, I bought it from the second owner after he retired. It is in real good shape as the body shop had worked on it off and on in the 60's but did not finish it. It has a diamond engine. Tried to post some pictures but the files are too big and I haven't fiqured out how to make them smaller.

Re: Roadster AA ??
Hello Ed,
Is there the same information for the closed cab which was only available on the AA chassis for some time in 1928?
Also, how many of the "Ford Motor Company Assembly Change and Service Department Letters" do you have?

Adam:
Years ago, I knew where a '30/'31 Open Cab Stakebed (131" W.B.) was stored in a small barn in an orchard just outside of Ojai, California. I snuck (trespassed) into that orchard numerous times over the years to see if the AA was still there. I never could figure out who owned it. It finally would up missing. Not too long after the last time I saw it, I saw a guy driving one exactly like it around the Ojai Valley. I never could get him pulled over so that I could ask him, if it was the same one from the orchard. I finally found out who owned the driveable one, but the guy is sort of a wierd dude and he won't talk about the open cab or any of the other old trucks he owns. I not even sure that he owns the AA anymore. And.........a number of years ago, I know that there was a '30/'31 Open Cab Stakebed (long W.B.) in Camarillo, California. So, yes....Open Cabs are out there, but I believe they are a fairly rare body style.

Re: Roadster AA ??
I have a very good roadster cab, 1928. no rust. needs interior. I would trade for a good closed cab, 28 or 29.
The open cab does not work well in Maine. too cold.
