BUDD WHEELS???????????
Has anyone out there ever removed the rivits on the BUDD WHEEL, and taken a good center off of one wheel and a good rim off another wheel?? DID IT WORK?? Where did you get the rivits?? Does anyone do this?? Regards James Lake

Jim, it can be done. Caution however, the holes do not always line up when centering the dish into the rim. Another worry is the run out. I believe the standard is .060". You would be better to take the wheel to a machine shop with a turn table. Let them cut out the dish in the wheel with the good rim as close to the rim as possible. Then, let them cut out the dish from the doner wheel. A turn table allows the wheel to be rewelded in the exact location. The welded area can then be ground smooth and the wheel refinished. For the most part, it isn't worth it. I did this once and probably will never do it again. Keep searching, there are good wheels out there.
