Front spring

I'm just about done with Grandpa's old AA Truck. It seems that the ole gal is sitting a little low in the front. I have a measurement of about 2 7/8 inches between the top of the axle and the bottom of the U-bolt bracket under the spring. Can anybody tell me what this measurement would be if it had a new spring?
