got my parts order in a couple of days ago but couldn't work on the truck because of all the rain. But today when I got home from work I put the starter switch on and fill the bowl of the carb and it started! A little rough at first like maybe only on 3 cylinders but after it burned off a bunch of that oil that was dumped in the cylinders to free the motor up it started hitting on all 4 and smoothed right out.

Just in time for a weekend ice cream run!
Its not quite ready for that......I still need to find one tire that is capable of containing an air filled tube. Replaced the belt after it started slinging pieces at me. While doing that one of the lower radiator hoses ripped.....so now I need to replace those. Anyone know the sizes off hand? I'll just grab some straight hose tomorrow.

Will post a video clip in a few days of it running. I flushed the gas tank out today and changed the coolant hoses and fan belt. Have a bad leak on the gasket on the glass sediment bowl I need to fix.
Worked on it a little tonight. Filled the radiator and noticed a leak around the water pump shaft. Also noticed there is no packing nut to tighten. Do they make pumps without the packing nut?
Finally got this truck off my trailer this last weekend. It's been running pretty good on the trailer and I've given up on finding a couple decent used tires to put on it for moving it around. The worst tire will hold air for a day or so and it has a front tire that has a bad tube. Air comes out as fast as it goes in. So I decided to unload it and drive it through the gate next to my garage so it will be out of sight for now. I live on the corner at a busy 4 way stop. I have an unusually wide concrete driveway that's at least 40' wide. I started the truck and drove it off the trailer and left it running while I moved the trailer out of the way. As I'm coming back around the corner of the house to the side where my garage is I notice traffics is stopped. Cars on both sides of the road are stopping and gawking at the AA all surprised that it's running. Then I climb in it and start moving it around the driveway trying to get it lined up to drive it thru the gate on the opposite side of the driveway. Which,by the way isn't easy when one front tire has no air in it. Traffic is all backed up from people watching me drive this truck slowly across the driveway while trying to Armstrong this steering wheel to make the 90* turn coming up on the other side. About this time my GF shows up and asks what's going on with all the traffic....lol. She said it took forever hot her to get past the intersection and into my front driveway. I'm surprised it wasn't a media event with all the commotion.
