is there a correct way to reinstall shift tower assy back on transmission 31 AA

well i like to use copper coat gasket adhesive(copper colored spray can). this holds the gasket in place and adds an extra layer to seepage protection if you (and 99.9% likely have) small scratches in the mating surfaces.

other than that shift the tower to neutral and line up the slider gearsand slowly straightly lower the tower down tryign to eyeball the bolt holes. Then tighten them up in a cross cross pattern like tighting lugs on a rim.

should be good to go after that.

it can be tricky to get the forks to slot in the slider gears correctly

i think i guess it is the reverse shaft which has a flat side was turned so flat would not go in lever
