Spare Tire Carrier

Post by 35mike »

How does the tire carrier mount to a '28 AA with platform bed?
I have two carriers. One has 9" heavy straps to complete the mount/hinge. The other one has only the loop curled at the forward end of the carriers main straps.
Is the same carrier used for wire wheels as the disc type single wheel?

Thanks.

What - no pictures????????????

Check out http://aafords.com/aa-chassis/aa-1400-carriers/#wcubuf for a gallery of wheel carriers. For 1928, AA's with four cross members had the carrier installed on the platform. Platforms with five cross members had the carrier installed one the #5 cross member. Part AA-1473 disk wheel spacers are needed for the 1929 disk wheel.
