Thanks to both replays
I thought I was getting the cork gaskets from Snyder, they sent the felt gaskets that I also need. They go on parts on each end of u joint. I'll try Sammy.

Re: Drive shaft housing gaskets
I think the part you are looking for is A-4216, it's a Model A part not a AA part.

Thanks, yeah, I bought that by mistake, it probably is a A part. The felt gasket will work in the bell shaped parts that that the intermediate shaft housing slips into.
I did find the correct gaskets at Snyder’s today. I hope!

Following!
I put felt strips in the 2 sides of the split housing that bolts to the frame and holds the rear end drive shaft forward.
Are they supposed to be cork?
Thanks,
Dave

The originals were cork but looks like most of the current ones are felt, I've
even seen some that are a large rubber O-ring.

Re: Drive shaft housing gaskets
you know, This is no magic, it is just a gasket. If you get in a bind, and or feel ambitious, make your own.. A couple layers of paper board works great. The back of a notepad works. Seal it all up and layer it together with permatex sealant.

Got it. Thank you.
I will go with the felt ones I have for the 4516 gasket replacement instead of the originals that were cork.

Re: Drive shaft housing gaskets
OK, now I'm confused. Which gasket are we talking about, 4515 or 4516?

Re: Drive shaft housing gaskets
The gasket I'm looking for is the 4516. And by the way, thanks for all the replays and photos. I bought a gasket set from Snyder and haven't checked it yet. It has long cork strips. Hopefully they are the correct gaskets.
Where can you get the felt material?
Sorry for the delay answering all your post, I get tied up with work and have to put this truck aside. I do appreciate all feedback.

Re: Drive shaft housing gaskets
FYI - A-4516 u-joint housing cap felt was the Ford part (not cork). Also, only one was specified per outer u-joint housing cap. Not sure how this would have been installed. Anyone know?
Vendors sell kits with two pieces of felt (see https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/Prod ... hByKeyword)
