What is the best way to remove the glass on a 31 closed cab?
Mine is cracked in several spots. Do I need to remove the door panel and remove the entire regulator? Or can I separate the glass with the regulator still in the door?
Best way to remove the glass from the regulator? I found the replacement material at Snyder's.
Thanks?!

Re: Door glass removal
Just my opinion (I have only worked on 82-A cabs. Not the 82-B cab like yours). I think you will need to remove the door panel and then see if the glass channel can be separated from the regulator without its removal. You might need to remove two of the three regulator attachment screws to allow the regulator to be tilted. When you are replacing with the new glass, the process will need to be repeated.rrich1 wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2024, 5:23 pmWhat is the best way to remove the glass on a 31 closed cab?

Re: Door glass removal
So to remove the glass, all I did was remove the top metal piece that keeps the window from going up too high. I then cranked the window up. The regulator essentially rolled itself out of the channel and the window just slid right up. I did remove the door panel as the window seemed to bind. Nothing looked out of place. I'll reevaluate after I get the new window.Neil Wilson wrote:Just my opinion (I have only worked on 82-A cabs. Not the 82-B cab like yours). I took a putty knife to the channel and tapped the glass free from the channel. The bedding was a cork compound. I ordered new bedding from Snyder's but I don't think it will be the same. Seems to be more rubber based.
I cleaned up the residue and took it to the glass company on Monday should have a new piece in a week.

Re: Door glass removal
Thanks for the update. The 82-A doors do not have the removable top (above the glass). The 82-B doors are the same as the 30-31 Tudor.rrich1 wrote: ↑October 9th, 2024, 1:26 am
