will not start

i just put my b head on and now there is no spark at the points. the key switch is turned to the right i think that means there should be power on. i just got the truck drove it about a half mile when it turned its self off, looked under the hood and the head was cracked, so i am not used to this truck. any help would be helpful.thanks rikz
