Did the AA have pin stripping?
Re: pin stripng - AA
I was of the impression that the AA's did not have pin stripes but both of my 82A's did have and it appeared to be on the original paint.
Just my observation.

Re: pin stripng - AA
My understanding is that pin striping and paint buffing was an option for the AA. Many of the Ford archive AA photographs do show striping. My Feb. 1928 AA has pin striping. Most archive, '28/'29 AA, photographs show pin striping. Most archive, '30/'31 AA, photographs do not show pin striping. Attached is the pin striping on an early '29 AA (archive photograph). The location of the striping does not agree with the "Model A Ford Paint & Finish Guide" which has the strip across the bottom of the door. All photographs and original AA's that I have seen do not have the pin strip across the bottom of the door.

Neil
That is the exact way both of mine were striped.
Very simple, stopped at the back of the cab and at the lower rear of the cowl post.

Re: pin stripng - AA
Does anyone know what color pinstriping would have been used with Rock Moss Green body color?

My Rock Moss Green early '30 AA has a straw pinstripe applied as mentioned above (no pinstripe on the bottom of the door). I remember reading somewhere, though, that the color was to be French Gray.

French Gray is specified in the Judging Standards for a 1929 82-A closed cab. I have never seen any original good enough to actually tell what the color was. Just lucky to see where the strip was.

Re: pin stripng - AA
Good point Neil. The name of Ford colors often isn't very informative - our '29 Roadster is "Bonnie Gray" and very similar to other Bonnie Gray cars we've seen, but its definately more green than gray.
The straw pinstripe actually looks pretty good on the RMG cab, I think a gray would look a little strange.

The French Gray color chip looks like there is some green (but mostly gray). BTW - rock moss green is almost black.
