I have several open cab photos. Canadian Ford Archives has a pictire of a 1928 open cab stake body truck. I have a photo of Abell's open cab 1928 AA truck, formerly a stake truck now an express truck. Abell of Model A starter fame had the truck at his place on Cape Cod. In the Jan.1937 isssue of American City is a photo of an open cab 1928 AA. The town of Dana. Mass. now under water in a resevoir had an early 1930 open cab/flat bed fire truck now owned by the Orange,Mass. Historical Society. They might have a photo of it. They have a 1929 sign on it, but it's really a 1930. My own 1928 AA open cab job has only part of the cab and the express body is a one off made by me. One of the issues I've never resolved is what the did with the cab sills when putting a 76A cab on an AA chassis in early 1928. The early 76A cab had sills that extended to the rear of the A body; ie the pickup bed sat on a continuation of the cab sills. I guess the hack sawed off the excess. E-mail your address and I'll send you some stuff. Sincerely, Ed Hayslip

Forgot to include my e-mail address: Edwin_Hayslip@brown.edu. Ford mag in 1930-31 has a picture of a lineup of early 1930 dump trucks with 76A open cabs bought by the Alaska highway department! Yes, Alaska!! Freeze in the winter and bitten by mosquitos in the summer. I don't have a run of this mag. It's the mag from the Ford Company as opposed to Murray Fahnstock's Ford Dealer etc. Sincerely, Ed Hayslip

My research indicates that the open cab was not available on the AA until about mid '28. Also, the closed cab was not available on the A until June 4, 1928 (A-2 of the judging standards).

Attached is a picture of my early '30 AA Express when I originally got it. Sorry, it is a closed cab unit.

On the back cover of the July/Aug. Model A News v.51 #4 is an early 1930 AA closed cab express photo. It's a posed 1930 photo and might be a Ford Archives photo. The truck is obviously new and has the legend Bureau of Power & Light on the side. The issue of the MARC News gives no attribution, so don't know where they got this photo. Best, Ed Hayslip

I missed the orange truck the guy he bough it from offered it to me for 6250- stupid me. I could not get the money right at the moment and I let the other guy buy it. It was way up north I think Conn. It was listed on Aoogha.

Are you looking for an open cab like a C cab or a Half door.
