Re: Open Coupling Shaft
Eric, Only the coupling shaft is open in this setup, the rear end is closed.
Hayslip, The picture on page 35 is the new design closed coupling shaft with the front u-joint.

Re: Open Coupling Shaft
Bob, Yes your photo of the open intermediate driveshaft was what I understood. I wanted to include additional information for those unfamiliar with open driveshafts on the AA.
Attached are photos of the parts needed for an open intermediate driveshaft. There are no part numbers on any of these parts.

Re: Open Coupling Shaft
Robert, The Ebay auction is for a closed coupling shaft.
Eric, That is the set-up I have. The seal I am asking about is at the other end. In the picture you can see the mark on the slip yoke where the seal was riding. The yoke has the numbers 3943 stamped in it, I would like to find another yoke if anybody has one.

Re: Open Coupling Shaft
Well three years later I finally found the seal I was looking for, had to buy a whole dump truck carcass to get it.
Came with engine, hydraulic dump bed, transmission with real good gears and PTO, four good wheels and best
of all when I got it home I found it had four cast iron brake drums and a high speed rear end.
