I'm shooting from memory, but it looks like you might have the left and right sides reversed. If you don't get a definite answer elsewhere by Saturday, I'll run over and look at mine then for you.

The one pictured is for the right side , the grease fitting should be pointing away from the back plate.

Yep, the grease fitting point toward the inside. The spring bolt/pin is about 3-5 degrees off of being parallel with the axle. By installing the rear seats on the wrong side means there will be a considerable bind on the bolt/pin. I am supprised things will even bolt up.
