I've seen photos of Model AA Army trucks with tandem rear axles. What I'd give to rig one of those double axle jobs up to a doodlebug with two 4 speed transmissions.

Chris: Thank you for posting that info- I put it on my favorites. The photos of the tandem rear AA may have been posted by Neil some time ago, as the rear fenders were like the ones in the photos above- except they were stretched to cover both axles. I'm not sure where I saw it, but I'm certain it was a U.S. Army.
I have been forming a plan to weld up a couple of '29 worm drives into a tandem rig, but with a rigid frame. Some of the drawings on the sites you posted will be helpful. Thanks again, FB

I know some guys who went into Afghanistan right after the Russian pullout and bought several Soviet Tanks and other types of equipment. They have it all running today. The Reds left all their spare parts there too. These guys have a few acres covered with tanks and trucks of all kinds that they rent to movie companies. When they supplied all the Russian tanks for the movie Red Dawn they had to modify British tanks to look like the Soviets.

Check the Airforce musuem at Dayton Ohio website. They have a 1931 AA stakebed on display. Don't know if they have a picture of it though.

I took these pictures of a flat bed truck at the museum this summer. It's a '32-'34 (right?), but a very cool old machine. They have an old Mack parked in front of it. This is part of the Air Force One display in its own hangar. They have a "T" ambulance in the main museum. It's a great, free museum!
