Brake Rod Lengths

Post by HKDude »

Does anybody have the brake rod lengths for a 29AA, 131" WB, with a rocker arm? I'm looking for the rod length from the service brake cross shaft arm to rocker arm and then the rocker arm to rear brake drum lever.

My original rods were/are in bad shape but my best guess is 39" for the cross shaft to rocker and 37" for the rocker to brake lever. Those numbers, however, don't seem to match up with any of the part numbers or lengths I have access too (Shild's AA Supplement).

Mike,
The Judging Standards (Section E) has a listing of brake rod lengths. I don't know how accurate or complete it is:

For separate emergency brake '28/'29 AA's:

rear brake rod - front = 38-5/8"
rear brake rod - rear = 37-1/2"

76 - 1/8" total length which is 1/8" more than your total length

Thanks Neil. I'm not sure how I missed that in the judging standards...
