Is This Worth it?....
Hello,
I was Looking around and I found this Ford Truck I think its a " Model AA "
And I was Just wondering if it was Worth $350.00 Dollars? or not?
I don't know if it has a title or not? My guess is That it doesn't.
Its in pretty bad shape. Just let me know what your thoughts are.
I appreciate it
Thanks,
1932ford

I am sure there are $350.00 worth of parts there. For another $20,000.00 you could have it on the road.

Re: Is This Worth it?....
If you buy it and part it out.......reserve the exhaust pipe hangers for me,please !!
Re: Is This Worth it?....
I would buy it for $250 (delivered) if the motor turned and trans wasn't cracked, it would be a decent chassis to start with. The cowl and cab appear to be scrap, but you may have some good parts in the doors, maybe a good tank and dash panel. But if you are looking to drive it any time soon....keep looking there are better deals out there.

Hey Nick,
I would buy it in a heartbeat...
The steering wheel appears very good, the front wheels could be worth a C note each, and you have the basics...
I would go for it, if you don't have to ship it 3000 miles!!!
Go for it!!! You gotta start somewhere!

Mechanically you can do it, but that sheet metal looks pretty bad. I would spend a few thousand $ more and buy something that isn't a parts truck. Yer gonna spend approximately $500.00-$1,000.00 rebuilding the rear end and drive line, less brakes. $200.00-$500.00 on front and rear brakes. $100.00-$300.00 on transmission. $3,000.00-$10,000.00 on the engine depending on what you want to do to it. $100.00-$200.00 on kingpins and bushings on the front end. $300.00-$500.00 on the steering box. $$600.00-$1,000.00 for tires, tubes and boots. $300.00-$600.00 to sandblast and repaint all the frame, front axle, steering box, rims, and running gear. I am sure more costs on the running chassis will make themselves apperant. Notice that you haven't even started on the sheet metal yet.

1932Ford:
There are still plenty of AA's available out there, if a guy just stays patient and keeps looking. I'd say this one is a "parts truck". It could be made to run, but it would cost you one heck of a lot! It's worth the $350, if it's not too far from your home. Maybe you'll find another one that's lacking a lot of parts too. This one and your future find might make one good AA.
Keep looking is my vote.
Good luck!

Is the cup half full.... or half empty?
I say keep it in the family, and if you change your mind, call me, I will buy it from you, except maybe the exhaust hangers.

Re: Is This Worth it?....
I bought a AA that was cut down and made into a tractor for parts. As it turned out, the brake drums showed zero wear, the U-joint looked new, and the transmission gears have minimal wear. The same guy sold me a nearly complete AA dump truck (dump body and tailgate all new, minus cab and hood)
Another rolling frame I saved from the scrapper turned out to have a high speed rear end. I bought it for what some people have paid for just the high speed spedo gears.
If you have the room to spare, it is great to have the extra parts to choose from. You'll never know what you have until you tear into it. Or if you have stripped out a bolt, lost a pin, or broke a widget, it is easy to find a replacement. You don't have to wait for someone three states away to ship one to you. If a rear axle is going south on your daily driver, rebuild a rear axle off the parts truck then swap them out to avoid down time.
