Did the 29 AA use the same radiator and grill shell as a model a truck, or did it have one with a thicker core and longer grill shell?

Some of the 29 AA's if not all had a thicker rad ( 4 core) but used the same shell.

Jared --

According to the judging standards (section E-4), "Heavy commercial vehicles used passenger radiator cores from 1928 into early 1930, when a four-row, flat tube radiator was introduced. The addition of one row of tubes made it necessary to punch the mounting bolt holes in the radiator supports slightly off center to provide sufficient clearance between the end of the fan shaft and the rear of the radiator core. This slightly increased the spacing of the hood."

The plating section on E-20 discusses the radiator shell, "All commercial shells where magnetic steel and painted black, except for deluxe 1931 models, which where stainless steel. Beginning with the tall radiator introduced in mid-1930, radiator shells where widened to fit over the four row flat tube radiator. These shells had a straight line at the lower edge of the upper panel, rather than the curve and point of shells on passenger cars."

Hope this helps.

'28 and '29 shells are shaped differently around the crank hole.
