I have posted this on FordBarn as well. I don't know how many of this forum members read FordBarn.
Our housing is bent (sprung?) We have replaced the backing plates, and have had to replace one radius rod. Now it wouldn't go back together (brake lever rods would not line up).
we have taken the assembly to a commercial firm to try to bend (spring?) the assembly back into alignment. The firm is concerned that the housing is cast iron and will break.
Is the assembly cast iron? and what are the chances it will break during realignment?
We know the truck was heavily used in the logging industry. (It has overload springs, and that is generally an indication that it was heavily loaded on a regular basis.)
Advice would be great appreciated.
Thanks
