Located on inside of frame on drivers side anybody know what its for?

Battery tray attaches to this bracket and the battery trays other bolt attaches to the cross member in the hole about 3/4" to the left of the brake rod where it goes through the frame. The Battery tray is the same as the ones used on the A cars and pickups!?? Shelby, Louisiana.
