lug nut finishes?

lug nut finishes?

I have a huge bag full of all the lug nuts that i have gotten they are all in good shape exept they are all rusty. i know they probly wernt origenaly chrome but wouldnt mind a bit if they were. are there any other finishes or treatments for these? also kinda the same question for the rim lock rings. thanks yall!!

I believe both were originally cadmium plated.

You could paint them with aluminum paint. That's what my grandfather used to paint the locking rings and lugnuts on his '34.

fordman88, Eastwood has a "Electroplating system tin zinc" that works great. #100492 @69.99. Use the baking soda system to remove the rust first. You will love the results!! Shelby, Away in Sacramento.

i thought about painting the rings but figured paint on the lugnuts wouldnt last past the first tire change. im gona look into the product from eastwood for sure. thanks for the ideas!!

They were cadium plated, I have used Dawson Brothers in Wichita to do my plating you will need to bead blast them first to save money

The aluminum paint has actually held up well. You could always touch it up after the fact if need be. Just my $.02.
