My AA truck was built Oct. 29, it has the small front axle like the A's. It has 11" pressed steel drums on the front like the A's had. The lug pattern on the A's is
5 on 5.5 , the lug pattern on the AA truck is 5 on 6 7/8". My milling machine has a 3 axis digital read out, and a circular bolt hole pattern program.
Does anyone think it is possible to take a new 11" cast iron drum with a bolt hole pattern of 5 on 5.5 and find the center of the drum with a dial indicator and redrill the holes between the existing holes to a pattern of 5 on 6 7/8" to fit the AA truck?
Next question: All the drums and rotors I've ever seen, just slide on, so why do model A drums have to be pressed on?
thanks nick

Re: 11" drums on front
If both drums have a 5 hole pattern you should have no problem. Ive done the same thing using a Hartford dividing head.
