To all,
I am new to this forum, I am working on my 31 AA fire truck older restoration. My question is the left and right steering spindle arms need to have the balls replaced, are these the same as passenger A ? Also can I use a new shorten pitman arm ?
Thank you,
MIKE

Re: AA FRONT END
The AA steering arms are different but the balls are the same size as the A, and
the pitman arm is the same as the A. A&L can put new stainless balls on your
old arms.

Mike:
Glad to see that you made it over here from Aoogah- It might be better to find servicible replacement steering arms, and do a complete work-up of all the front end. Once everything is in propper working order, then the short pitman arm may not be of interest to you any more. Very best of luck and success with your project. Send us some photos now ans again... fb

- This is our late 1931 fire truck,
it has a indented firewall. From the steering wheel back is American LeFrance body. The truck has been in the family since 1986. - IMG_0014.JPG (209.65 KiB) Viewed 4812 times

My early 28 firetruck is not a show truck like yours. It is a plain as they come after all these years with apparatus missing.
Again, keep up the good work.

It was 120 on the rooftop of my business today. It always reads a little high up there.
