Corner connectors

Post by lowtide »

Does anyone know where you can get two pairs of corner connectors ( R & L) for a stake body. I have seen parts supplier with the stakes but not the connectors. Does anyone have 2 sets they would like to sell. Thanks Lowtide

They do turn up now and then. I found a pair at a flea market recently. Keep looking.

I know that it's a time consumer, but besides the swap meets and flea markets one should consider the garage sales. You just never know what you will find at them.

Hello Lowtide and others,
You can still buy the connectors, I purchased mine, a complete set from a trailer supply place, I am currently in the UK so I cant give you the web site till I return.
To make them match originals they have to have so grinding done, I believe Neil Wilson could explain this.

Brian is correct, there is a place outside Commerce City, Colorado that sells new connectors. They can be ground down to be absolutely correct, but the change is very slight. I have a complete set on my '30 AA Stake that I didn't modify and nobody has ever noticed.

While I remember the location, I can't remember the name of the company and can't find my original paperwork. Neil I'm sure will know.

Some of the hardware you can get here: http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/117/2991/=dwen87

The dimensions are the same as the original but the profile is a little different. I recut the profile on my computerized plasma machine to be the same as the original.

Here's another: http://www.buyersproducts.com/truck-tra ... ctor-sets/

The connectors shown at http://www.kaffenbarger.com/index.php?categoryID=61 look like the design being sold by other manufactures. They need to be ground a fair amount to look like original (see attached drawing).

You're right Neil. They even use Buyer's part numbers. The McMaster hardware is the right dimensions just the profile has to be modified.
