I recently finally found an express box for my '28 AA, these are hard to find here in Canada and it does need significant repair. Would anybody be able to send me some detailed photos of an express box especially the floor and front panel.

Thanks in advance, Mark

Mark,
There were two designs of express front panels. What is the month of your AA. Post pictures of the express body you currently have. Note that many times the TT express is confused for the AA express.

Thanks for the reply Neil, I am not sure of the exact production date of my AA. It is difficult to find data on Canadian production. My engine number is CAAR7305, it has the emergency brake on the left and has no rear crossmember. It also has the early "hex shaped" dual high. I have taken pictures of my box and will e-mail them to you direct. Iwill have to do that tomorrow as my computer here at home is having issues.

Please post pics of the dual high. I have two of them and they are both different. I would like to establish the years that they are.

Hello markt,
I am fairly sure that you have a TT express body that someone has made the wheel wells in the sides. I would need to see pictures of the tail gate and the section below the tail gate to be sure.

I have a MS Word document which explains the TT and AA express body differences. If you send me an email, I can send the document to you. It looks like the bottom area (i.e. area which would be under the floor) will need to be replaced. That area can be changed to be like the AA express so that it will rest on the AA frame.

From your description of the truck (i.e. no #5 frame cross member), it would be a May 1928 or earlier production date. Consequently, the express body would have the same front panel as the TT.

Attached is a low resolution picture of the April 1929 express body I am currently working on. It shows the side/cross sill assembly installed (note the taper). I have more pictures (high resolution) which I can email you as well. Note that the front panel is the shorter (second design) which has a flange under the floor boards. Your express will have a wood front cross member for the floor boards to rest on.
