Carb problem

Post by JEFF I »

I have a original zenith carb on my 1931 truck. It runs well except when I come to a stop and it wants to stall unless I use the hand throttle to keep RPM's up. I have seen or read the solution to this but can't remember it now. Any ideas ? Jeff

Idle jet plugged? does it idle ok? if not the Idle jet is most likely plugged. if it idles, the float might be set to low, and its starving for fuel when the fuel surges forward in the bowl.

It idles fine. I'll try adjusting the float. Thanks !

Or you could use one of these handy dandy brass and glass floats. :D

Hey Chris, I think that fix is the perfect fix for the tank level float too!
