Re: AA WHEEL QUESTION
Bob:
Is that an old postcard? Pretty cool photo! Running in the mud like that, I would think a solid wheel would be best. Mud would catch and hold on the scalloped holes.

Re: AA WHEEL QUESTION
Photo looks to be Australian - notice the radius arms connection to the frame, on the rear end. Someone posted photos of a truck awhile back with a similar set-up. The rear end is non-Ford, so the wheels were specific to it, and fit the Ford front end. Notice the huge eucalyptus log, and the "wrong-side" steering wheel. Search the previous posts for the photos - very interesting.

Re: AA WHEEL QUESTION
Looks like it is a Canadian built right hand drive truck. Some of them hand wood or solid disc wheels,
They also had a Timken rear axle with open driveline.

Re: AA WHEEL QUESTION
Here is a link to the pictures I took of my very similar Australian chassis:
As previously said, Right Hand Drive, so most likely an Oz picture rather than Canadian.
That tree in the background looks more like a typical warm and very dry climate Australian tree, and the log on the truck looks like some really serious hardwood.

Re: AA WHEEL QUESTION
This 2012 picture is as it is now --just some 84yrs after it was delivered new [back in 1928] by my FORD DEALER father [Refer TREVAN FORD HISTORY] . The truck was sold new with those wheels together with it's TIMKEN DIFF and WARFORD under-drive g,box. It has had a heavy duty front axel assembly fitted at some stage as i was told it had a habit of breaking spindles and splitting in half the warford boxes when working hard in the Australian bush . I also have a picture taken with two logs as big as the one shown in the original picture together with a many pictures taken as it was extracted from it's many years in it,s retirement shed.

Welcome Bob,
What country are you in? Do you have a VIN? That might help to answer your question.
Best of luck with your truck

Re: AA WHEEL QUESTION
HI Tom,
The engine number of my truck is CAA 71022 .
SORRY ---I don't think there would be any rear guards down here for your vehicle as most ever AA would have come into AUSTRALIA from CANADA less body . This was because the big difference in import duty amount on bodied to body less vehicles.
