Zerks

Post by scl009 »

How do you get these things out? I feel like I've tried just about everything but drilling them out. I want to go to modern Zerks for easier maintenance.

sc: Just do like the dentist, and yank 'em out. The old Alamite are pressed in, and so you'll probably need to tap the holes for the threaded Zerks.

I always have been successful at using a sharp cold chisel and a small hammer. Catch the Zerk fittings on the side and rolling them out, just like popping a weed out of the garden, roots and all.

So after beating and beating with the cold chisle and sledge this one zerk would not budge. I said "oh well let me try it on another." Welp I must just have one seriously stubborn zerk, cause it definitly worked on 4-5 zerks after that first one (quite easily I might add). Maybe I'll just have to drill that one zerk out.

thanks guys
