first let me say you guys are a absolue gold mine of information. I've owned my 29AA nearly a two weeks and have been searching this forum for at least one of them. Great stuff thanks for taking the time to write it all down.
Question. One thing I have not been able to find in the forum archives is information on the stake right behind the cab. First my title says 1929 which I believe is correct, just in case there are differences. But on the front of the flatbed there are only two pockets. These pockets are placed so that a standard stake will not fit. All the rivets/welds look origional, but the available slot in the pocket is approx 1/4 x 3. these two pockets are placed on either side of the cab.
A fellow has told me the "stakes" were realy flat metal bars and the wooden horizontal slats are attached to the bars. Could this be true? Does anyone have a picture of this?
Thanks again

Re: hello and a question
Terry, Don, Dave THANKS!
ok a flat bar, I can make a couple of those.
Yes the picture showing the "narrow" pockets appears to be the same size as mine.
As to the remaining pockets I now recognize my bed has be altered quite a bit, there are welds and cuts everywhere.
I will get some pictures today.

Re: hello and a question
The pictures posted by Dave are the 185-A which is for the 1930 AA157. A 1929 AA would have the 88-A platform. The front pockets are as shown in the picture below. The drawings posted by gunmetal are for the 88-A.
