some questions and a few anwsers?
hello all now that things have picked back up alittle the AA is back on the to do list 1st question:brake drums.what can one do to fix them if anything, has anyone looked into newer cast iron types?yes you would have to change the shoe lineings.2nd question spring perches.has anybody tried welding and remachining them.and what are the specs on such things...O.d./I.D.Now anwser time:U-joints needle bearing YES!Come to find out .they really haven't change much size wise.just the cups OD sizes because of the needle bearing . it takes 2 to make one and alittle machine work /alot makeing jigs and cutters.no the mitchelle OD will not mount to the 4speed .it will but it will take a ton of mods and tweeks.my AA is a 131 WB.the 157 would be a piece of cake lots of room to work.the rear, springs and OD is all that left to do.but it seamed that everything in the rear of the truck was shot and had to be redone.

I found mine by talking to a guy at a swap meet. Bought NOS linings on eBay.

When you see someone selling a cab and fenders from a '32/'33 they most likely came from a big truck. Ask where the axles are.

When I talked to Mitchell they told me the OD goes in the torque tube like the "A" not behind the transmission.
You could also go with a four speed OD trans. I'm going with a five speed, hope it works.

Hi guys, I'd like to know what year AA we're discussing here. Is it the 29 with 11" drums on the front or the later 30-31 with the 14" drums. This subject interests me because I'm restoring a 29 AA and i'm would like to put cast iron drums on the front and on the rear.
thanks nick c

I am talking about the Big Drums. '30/'31. I don't know if late '29 with duals is the same.njcar757 wrote:Hi guys, I'd like to know what year AA we're discussing here.
