Would any of you gents happen to sport mud flaps on your flat bed/ump truck?
And if so would you care to share how you mounted them?
We get a lot of liquid sunshine up here on the "Wet" coast, and I have a concern that those duallies might cause problems for those behind me. Of course they'll pass me, but I want them to see what they are doing when they do it.
Hardware is available, I just wondering where to hang them from or mount bars to the frame?

Re: Mud Flaps?
hmm ive thought about this too. on my 29 single rears i was thinking of making some sort of bracket that looks like the rear fender brace and drill holes thru the wood and have them mounted on an arm. This is much like modernish semi trucks where theres a tiangular beam that mimmicks a bookshelf bracket and the mudflap goes inside it.
heres some links to pics of modern trucks that may give you some ideas

built in reflectors

this is kinda what i was talking about

depending on how long your mudflaps are could make a similar bracket and bolt it to the frame or the wood pieces underneath.
Sorry i cant help much more...

Thanks Stakebed, Great ideas!
All kinds of way to do this, I guess it's up to the imagination for now.
I like the idea of incorporating the reflector strips. Thats a good safety angle I had not thought about.

Re: Mud Flaps?
That would work, but might tend to "sail" at speed.
Been looking at ready made Mud flap stabilizers and brackets.
Looks like truckers get skinned as bad as harley riders, for accessories. Ouch!

could always get creative with a large cheap C clamp with a mudflap bracket welded to it to clamp it to something sturdy so for originality purposes they can be removable for photo ops/car shows and the like.
