AA Overdrive?
Does Mitchel make a overdrive for AA's? What can be done to make A AA with a worm drive go faster? Mine has the 3 spd trans.

Its my understanding that Mitchell may have one coming for the worm drive axles, it really is only a matter of adapting the torque tube and shaft which is different than the bevel axle, all would depend on demand for them, the Mitchell company are very busy keeping up with orders for there excellent products.

Re: AA Overdrive?
I talked with the Mitchel folks at the Turlock meet yesterday. They have gear splitters for both Worm drive and Bevel drive AA's. Cost is around $2,500.00.

Did you consider an F150 transmission ? You can not tell from looking in the cab that there is any modification.

The f150 sounds nice but is there any hacking that has to be done? I don't like cutting up stuff.

Build it to make you happy NOT other peoples opinions.
Re: AA Overdrive?
The guy that sells this unit, cuts the drive shaft and tube down a bit, nothing noticable. No other modifications needed, no extra shift levers. It directly bolts to the AA bellhousing.Matt wrote:The f150 sounds nice but is there any hacking that has to be done? I don't like cutting up stuff.

The AA Mitchell comes with a newly made driveshaft housing.

As stated above the Mitchell runs around $2,500.00 for an AA. The F-150 unit requires many parts to adapt it to an AA Bellhousing, pedal mounting, driveline adapter among others.
