Rocky Mountain 6 speed transmission

Post by Elkhorn29 »

I acquired this Rocky Mountain 6 speed transmission at the Selma CA old car swapmeet last weekend. Attached to it appears to be a Model TT rear axle. I found some information online that suggest the RM 6 speed transmission was a over/under secondary transmission. The shifter linkage suggests the wheel base would be pretty short. Maybe farm truck/tractor? The unfamiliar wheel lug pattern looks interesting. The deal was too good to pass and it would be great if it would work on an "AA" to be able to drive a little =====faster :?.

Check out this link. Although it is directed towards the model t/TT it does shed some light on auxiliary transmissions offered in the aftermarket. Good stuff, it even shows the old ads for many of the transmission.

Hello, I'm John in Oklahoma City. I have a '26 TT with a Ruckstell and a RM 6 speed. The 2 shifters are somewhat overwhelming to a new T owner. I was hoping someone had a users manual for the Rocky Mountain (I have one for the Ruckstell). I don't check this post very often but please email me at mauerjohn@cox.net
Thanks
