changing the rear axle

Has anyone swapped the 30 aa rear axle for say a 1951 Ford 3/4 ton F3 axle. It looks to be the same diameter housing. Will the spring seats fit, or would I have to change to the later springs?

Try www.ford-trucks.com. A lot of very knowledgeable folks on there about that stuff.
