Headlight inner steel ring and clip to hold ring to bucket

I 've been waiting for some inner steel rings to come in for over a month. Today I decided to repair the ole rings. After some prep cleaning to remove the rust with a dremel grinder around the rusty holes, I used soldiering flux, my home made torch and acid core soldier. At first I tried to file the hole the soldier would fall through. So after using a copper backing for mig welding, I tried the copper backing to repair the holes in the inner steel ring. BINGO it worked very well, I have a lot to do yet but results are great. I also made the clip that holds the ring at the bottom of the bucket, turned out very good. Although I made them out of stainless steel. Will try to post pictures!! Shelby, Louisiana.

This is the lamp with metal ring repaired and painted. Also the U-shape clip I replaced. I made one of SS. I think looks good and bright and never rust. Also the support retainer strap I made it out of SS. Just about all I've seen are very rusted, not any more Shelby, Louisiana.
