Don,

You should be able to slide the driveshaft of without taking the rivet off. The rivet should just hold the coupler to the driveshaft so the coupler should slide off the pinion splines. If you do grind the rivet off you could probably use a nail off the same size or possibly a roll pin.

Hello Don,
You have the later shaft with just 1 pin, just tap the shaft forward. I assume you are disassembling the differential?.
Looks like Red beat me to it, ---- however should you need the pin Snyders have them.http://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/1871

Don you will problem have to heat it up and tap is with a hammer as you try to pull it apart. Thak is what I done with mine, to get it apart. If you do have to remove the rivet [Snyder's have them for the two pin it is #AA-4707-AS the one pin is #AA-4707-BS. Good luck they been together a long time when you heat the coupling try and put a wax candle around the shaft. so the wax goes in between the shaft and couple is acts as a lubricate to help slid the two apart.
