Hello Matt,
Yes they were, the assembly code for the most part will be on the front cross rail in front of the seat riser not on it as I stated and in some other areas, if you can find it, it can tell you where it was built.

Only 1928/'29 have the code. Mine is on the floor brace behind the floorboard, not on the seat riser.

Don
For the most part it will be near your left heel when sitting in the seat, this is not cast in stone, somewhat of an enigma with the research guys , from what I read it was stamped in various places, not a standard practice between assembly plants.
Steve Pluckers site as the plants codes, I have some numbers on my right sub rail and a couple of lazy letters which I am believing to be OC which would be Oklahoma City.
Here is a pic courtesy of Tom Wensenberg from Forbarn.

Chris is correct I meant in from of the seat riser, the plant numbers did go past 29, I see posters with 30s showing there codes.

The assembly plant code stamp is usually on the cross member right in front of the seat riser, if there is anything there at all, not all A's & AA's had the assembly plant stamp. On my early 1931 AA the stamp is in the center.
The best information on assembly plants is found here:

Matt,
To answer your question (I think) - not all AA's were built at the River Rouge Plant. I don't know about the frame which may have been stamped and assembled at one place. I have not seen any information on that one way or another.
Regards, Neil Wilson
