Shifter tower

Post by RustydoubleA »

Does anyone know which company supplied the 4 speed transmissions to Ford? Attached is picture of a tower from a WWII Dodge army truck transmission. It bolts up and works on the AA transmission. The tower has the New Process trade mark. Note the difference in design of the stick pivot area and the large screw on the side of the tower, must have been an upgrade from the little 1/4" in pin on the Fords. Steve.

Warner and DG&M (Detroit Gear & Machine) supplied the four speed transmissions. The cases usually will be marked with one or the other. Warner made transmissions that were used in many other trucks. I have some small Internationals from the forties that have them in. The cases are different depending on the year and model they were used in, but sometimes the internals will interchange.
