Would SAE 250 oil be good for the Dual High unit?
How many quarts with the PTO?

Doesn't the usual 600W stuff go in there thats used in the steering box, trans, and rearend?
If so 140 weight oil would be equivalent i believe.

Re: Oil for Dual High
Matt,
My information says the Dual-High takes 1 qt of oil without the PTO. The 250 wt oil would be a little too heavy. In the viscosity grading index, comparing the 600 weight gear lube that is recommended, a 250 SAE weight oil would be equivalent to about a 800 weight. A 140 SAE grade would be the equivalent of the 600 weight. My sources also recommended that in temperatures below 10 degrees the gear lube could be cut 10 percent with kerosene.

Which with today's modern multi viscosity oils you wouldn't need to cut with kerosine.
