Does anyone have a picture of a 28/29 Platform AA in Gunmetal blue? Having a heck of a time trying to find pics...
Im not sure if my 29 was originally a gunmetal blue or if what little paint i found was sun faded rock moss green... Either way I'm leaning towards gunmetal as that's the color id like to paint my Early March 29 which i believe it would be an available color at the time.

What I have been told the gunmetal blue is almost a black color.

Did you paint or just clean and oil to get that finish?

The simple step by step of how I do it is:
Start with a 4" fine wire wheel on a hand drill followed by some steel wool where needed. For the finish I use Johnson's Paste Wax.
There is a bit more technique to the process but that gives the basics.

Re: Pics of a 28/29 in Gunmetal Blue?
yea i had similar lightish blue paint on the bottom side of my gastank but couldn't tell if it was faded rockmoss or gunmetal... I for some reason cant visualize the truck being gunmetal blue - mostly because ive never seen it in person on any model A and from what pictures i find while image searching it it varies from a teal color to more of a darker grey blue and i dont know what is correct.
I'm just daydreaming here about what color to paint my truck, planning to stick to the factory colors available for March 29 AA's and while i do love the look of rock moss green it seems everyone has it (no offense to anyone - its a beautiful green but im wanting to be a bit different) to me its like everyone buying a red Ferrari beautiful in red but everyone else has it in red haha.
heres some of the gunmetal blues i come across:
this blue i can visualize and i really like this shade but is it gunmetal?
the model T is supposedly correct gunmetal blue, more of a grey tone to it

The second image looks tinted as the pavement and sky are tinted towards the same blue as the car?Stakebed wrote:yea i had similar lightish blue paint on the bottom side of my gastank but couldn't tell if it was faded rockmoss or gunmetal...
