What color if painted?

Thanks,
Matt

I am sure that the pedal was not cadmium plated. It was most likely black enamel (dipped) like the brake and clutch pedals. The pin holding the pedal to the bracket was cadmium as far as I know.

now i am aware of 2 different pedal designs. one the pedal "knobs" (part your heel would use to switch back and forth) my march of 29 had a wavey pattern to the tops while i believe crosscuts jan 29 has a bullseye look to it

Ford Truck Nut,
You sent me a picture of what I thought was your NOS pedal and it didn't look cadmium plated to me (the pin did). So, maybe others can give their opinion if you please post the picture. Or, email the picture to me again and I will post it.

now that i look at it again it may not be cad plated, but it definatly was plated, and has never been used, the bushing and pin are both new.

Ford Truck Nut,
The pedal looks like it is unfinished with a small amount of surface rust. But, maybe it is just the picture. Maybe others will voice their opinions.

Looks like bare iron with minor surface rust to me. I'd say definitely not plated.

Looks like it may have been Parkerized which was a commpn metal treatment on the '20's/'30's'

The earliest version and the hexagon shaped version used the circular bulls eye pattern. Starting mid '28, the round shaped case DH used the parallel grooved pattern.

FYI - For both design 1 and 2 dual highs, the transmission shifter lever and the shifter pedal were a single eye design for the shifter rod which had a non-adjustable clevis at the front and an adjustable clevis at the rear. The pedal design had a circular pattern.

Design 3 dual high started production in mid 1928. The shifter pedal was a double eye design and the shifter rod was non-adjustable with a single eye at each end. The pedal design had a parallel groove pattern.
