I am rebuilding the platform on my 29 AA. I need to know if there is any welt between the sill boards and the metal frame.
I had the AA out for it's first long drive yesterday (60 Miles). On what is called the Spar road, 20% grades and 240 curves.

It looks like you have the 30 Budd wheels in back and earlier 29 wheels in front - interesting. Does this have worm gear rear end or bevel? I did not use any frame welt between my wood sills on my bed and the frame. When I removed the bed it had no welting on the frame. My truck is an early thirty with same cab as yours.

There was no anti-squeak (frame welt) used between the wood platform sills and the frame. Ford named fender and frame welting "anti-squeak". Its purpose was to prevent metal to metal contact and thus prevent squeaks.

FYI - There was anti-squeak on the frame under the front fender and under the shield to just behind the frame body bracket. There was anti-squeak on the frame body bracket also.

Thanks for the information. This is How I got the truck, with these wheels, I would like the 6 hole wheels on the
rear ( if they Would fit). It has a bevel gear rear end. Late October or early November truck.

Your AA has had the rear axle converted to the 1930/1931 bevel gear axle. This is not an uncommon conversion to find. And, Ford documented the conversion procedures in the Service Bulletins in early 1930.

The truck would have to be converted back to the original worm drive rear axle with the 1929 design rear hubs/brake drums to be able to use the 1929 six opening wheels.

Thanks, I guess I will leave it the way it is. If I can ever find another set of rear wheels may be I will put the duals
on it. It came with the lug bolt set up on the rears. I rebuilt the running gear, but have left the body original as found.
This truck had a very hard life in the past, but now it has it a little easier.

Glad you were able to get it out for a drive.
What is on the radiator cap?

That is a 1920's brass facet off a bath sink I found, has a white handle with HOT on it. Some thing different, get a lot of comments on it.(I am OFF a bit) .....

I had my suspisions that it was a faucet handle. Good one!
