Looking to hunt down some vibrations in my truck now that its rolling on the road. I have a regular Model A hanger currently holding the rear of thr pipe but I believe its too tight to the frame. I have the two bolt type hanger sold by Snyders P/N AA-5256-B That bolts to the frame. Trouble is I don't know where it supposed to bolt to.
Anyone on the board used this hanger/pipe bracket? Have a picture of where it mounts?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Muffler hanger
Take a look at the frame about 3 1/2 inches after the 2nd running board bracket. You should find two holes one above the other about 2 inches apart. The bracket lines up with these holes. As I recall the nuts are on the outside of the frame. Slip the bracket over the pipe first then bolt up. Best, Ed

Farrell,
I maybe wrong I am thinking you have a 157WB ?, --- if so AA-5256-B is for the 131, here are hanger pics for the long wheelbase.

Re: Muffler hanger
Thanks for the reply, Brian and Hayslip. This truck is a 131" so the bracket should work. I'll check it out tonight and see about those holes. I can't believe I missed them, but then again I am missing more and more every year.

Re: Muffler hanger
On the short wheel base there should be a little bracket riveted to the
side of the frame rail just behind the second running board bracket.

Re: Muffler hanger
Not all muffler installation were the same! Without knowing the month/year and cargo body of the AA131, the muffler installation can not be determined. So, that would be a good place to start.
Note that the Ford Service bulletin shown above (page 558) contains incorrect information and it only reflects April 1931 information. Prior information is not shown. Also note that I published an article in the April 2014 Double A'er covering the AA muffler system. It covers the eight different muffler installations.
