Newbie: 1930 AA flatbed dualie

Post by DeepSouthRick »

Recently acquired this gem. 1930 AA flatbed, dual wheels. Excellent mechanical shape; body unrestored. Only gauge remaining in the cluster is the ammeter, which works. First thing I want to do is restore the instrument cluster.

NIce rig with great patina! I like the support strap rigged to hold the running board up. Are the deck stakes made of wood? I would love to see a picture of the inside of the racks for ideas for mine. I do not have enough steel stakes to restore all my racks so I may just us wood stakes for now. Again nice truck, make her safe and put her to work!

The Ammeter, Fuuel gauge, and Speedometer are the only gauges it has. Speedometers can readily be found on eBay.

Is the running board a wood board? Seems like someone took the term "board" a bit too literally.
What about the other side? I'm sure someone in this forum could help you find original running boards.
Also, please put in your "profile" a clue as to your location.

Those running boards are FORD'S original diamond metal running boards. Also welcome to the AA club Rick, very nice AA to enjoy and-or restore. Shelby, Sacramento.
