rock moss green paint source

Post by marcel kristoff »

I'm having trouble finding a source for Rock Moss Green paint for my 1928 AA. I have found the Dupont paint code L8621 and the PPG code IM117 from this site. My best local source is NAPA. They called thier paint guy at thier regional office and was told that those codes are no good. I don't know why. I am in Canada, so shipping a couple quarts north of the border will be pricey, even before the exchange rate. Do any Canadian guys have any suggestions for me? Thanks

FYI - The proposed JS revisions for the 1928 AA color scheme is shown below. Note that Rock Moss Green is going to be for 1929. This proposed revision still needs MAFCA/MARC joint JSC approval (maybe in the next couple of weeks).

  • 1928 AA Color Schemes
    Entire Body Belt Striping
Commercial Gray (1) Commercial Gray French Gray
Gun Metal Blue (2) Gun Metal Blue French Gray

    (1) Thru August 1928 M682 pyroxylin (lacquer) and M696 satin; commercial gray would have been a dark green
    (2) Beginning August 1928 M680 pyroxylin (lacquer) and M690 satin
