AA steering wheel originality question

my truck is a late 28. it has the remains of a black steering wheel with a recessed area for the horn button and bezel. what year did the AA use this style and when was the non indented or recessed style used. question two: is the horn button interchangable? thank you, kevin

Sounds like someone changed the original steering column including steering wheel in your late '28 with a later style steering column. I have seen that before, in fact I used to own a late '28 which had that. The later steering systems were easier to steer. The horn buttons are not interchangeable.
