New member - new project
Hi all, I'm sure you have all heard this before; but, new member here with a new project under hand. I just recently purchased a 31 Model AA. Its somewhat of a basket case, but figure with a little time, effort and TLC I can get her on the road. It looks somewhat complete but just no life in her. From what I can tell, it looks like the bed is from a Model B (any thoughts?) and the frame was shortened in the rear a bit (probably trying to fit the smaller bed).
This is my first "Big" project, I have worked on older Motorcycles for years and figured I would upgrade a bit. This site looks like a great resource, so I thought I would pop in and say Hi, also find out if anyone is near the Rochester NY area in case I get into a jam?

A lot of them were cut off like that for the dump body to work properly. Any remnants of a dump mechanism left??? Could have been a manual one and not hydraulic so all the dump hardware would have gone with the dump box.
Would need closer pics of that box but it does resemble the early V8 pick up boxes.

The running board shields on your AA are for a model A. I can't tell from the picture if it is a one piece apron or not. The original AA would have a front fender shield and a running board shield which were bolted together. The 1931 A had a one piece shield which was long enough to be bolted to the front fender.
Take some pictures of the rear fenders. They might be AA rear fenders.

They look like 28 29 sedan fenders to me Neil. you can see the apron on the one to the right. Wonder what that door was off of. There also appears to be a rusty 28 29 front bumper back there as well.

Re: New member - new project
There were actually 2 rusty bumpers in the back and a pair of running boards which are too thin (probably from a Model A). I'll try and get some pictures of the rear fenders in the morning when I have some light. In the back was also a left and right rusty apron as well. The Apron on the truck is one piece that attach to the front fenders. BTW, the door didn't come with the truck, not part of the sale.

Re: New member - new project
Those 2 fender may be with the bed, BUT they are not a match to the bed. I have a '34 bed just like it! The bed is off of a Model B pick-up '32-'34 (can be made to fit) And the 2 fenders leaning against the wall are for a 1930-31 model A, either a 2 dr or 4 dr sedan The extra metal on the inside rear is the tell-tell Shelby, Sacramento.
